  • Transport of Radioactive Materials

Our radiation protection advisory (RPA) services advise clients involved with nuclear materials on operational power and process plants, decommissioning sites, in emergency preparedness as part of CBRN and terrorism awareness, and small commercial uses.

Our RPAs are accredited by RPA2000, an HSE approved assessment body, to recognised standards.

The individual RPAs have extensive experience in radiation safety, including applications into broader fields such as transport, oil and gas exploration and exploitation, pharmaceuticals, and defence.

RPA advice includes, but is not limited to:

  • As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) planning
  • Restriction of exposure
  • Dosimetry
  • Contingency planning
  • Preparation of Local Rules
  • Prior Risk Assessment
  • Statutory training in radiological protection
  • Selection and training of RPS (Radiological Protection Supervisors)

Our RPAs are qualified to provide advice and assistance relating to radiological substances and the transport of radioactive materials.  Additional Services include:

  • Attendance at safety meetings, including HAZOPs, for commissioning plant, plant operations, and radwaste services
  • Assistance in the preparation of radiological protection aspects of safety documents
  • Peer review of radiological aspects of control documents
  • Support to engineering projects
